Tchoukball and Frolf (You probably think that I can't english right about now, don't you?)

Tchoukball! The wonderful sport of throwing a ball at a bouncy net thing and actually wanting it to hit the ground! So much fun!
So I first played this game with Mrs.Vaughn back in grade 4, and up until a few weeks ago I hadn't played the game since, and I had totally forgotten about the game. But when Mr. Neuf told us to look up a video, and I saw the nets, everything came back to me. I even remembered that I used to have a name tag on my desk in grade 4 and I had drawn Tchoukball onto the name tag as 1 of the 3 most enjoyable things or memorable things that I learned that year. Best sport ever.
So while we (Short Kabir, Jag and myself) got the rules figured out and organised teams (Jag mostly did that if I remember correctly), I found it really hard to explain the rules to the group because people didn't listen very often. So once we made the rounds to every team and explained all the rules, the game actually worked out pretty well. I will add one more thing and it's that while everyone understood the rules, not very many people took advantage of the fact that we could use both nets to score. I guess the pro sport players were too set on the mind set that one team had one net, the other team has one net. Not both teams have access to both nets.

Next up on the list of boring things to talk about we have Frolf! What is Frolf you might say? Frolf is Frisbee golf, and we played it with a twist. The twist was that we didn't take turns between teams throwing the frisbee, the goal of the game was to mutually pick a target that both teams agreed upon, and then on the count of three, both teams threw the frisbee and did their best between both team members to hit the target, alternating who threw the frisbee on each throw. I have a video of this too, so I'll have that posted soon if everything goes well. Once I have the video up, if I missed anything that I needed to talk about, I'll write them over on that post.

  1. Lovely post… such a contradiction to the earlier ones I commented on just now. :) I'm glad we managed to find a game from your past (I can't believe you remember your name tag!) and that you worked with two other boys to get the game afoot. Your frolf group seemed to really enjoy fitness that day. :) What are you best attributes for "leading" the activity like that? Which personality traits work against you?
