Fitness test scores and comparison

Alrighty, so over the course of the semester, we did 3 fitness tests to see how we were doing in PE. The general idea that you want for the scores is for the scores to go up (or down on the T-test and the balance board). At the beginning of the year my scores were decent, and all of my scores got better in the second test, and then everything dropped significantly on the third test, and we'll talk about that when we get to it.
My second scores were;
Beep Test: 10.2
Flexibility:  0
T-test: 12.06
Plank: 1:04
Balance Board Touches: 14
Push ups: 24
Height 225 /Jump 280

And the third scores are here;
Beep Test: 9.4
Flexibility: 0
Height 225 /Jump 285
T-test 12.08
Plank 1:40
Balance Board Touches:12
Push ups :30

So looking at the scores and being able to compare them, I really only did worse on the beep test. At around the 3rd level I was starting to get cramps just underneath my rib cage, and I was quite irritated because usually they don't start until about level 5. Either way I kept going, and by level 9 I was starting to miss the beep to get to the line. I was very disappointed with myself for only running a 9.4 as you'll see in the video that I will post later once I get everything edited.

I'll also have to remember to get my first scores on here soon, I don't have them right now because they are still on my Skype account and I recently got my Laptop wiped, so I need to reinstall Skype.

My goal for the year was to improve my upper body strength and to increase my endurance, so I feel that by looking at my plank times and my push up scores, that while not significant, I have improved both of those. My endurance has gone up since I was able to hold the plank for longer, and my upper body strength has gone up because I was able to do more push ups. While this wasn't really the improvement I was looking for, I was looking for a much more significant change in the upper body strength and endurance, like double my original scores or so, this was still an improvement. I didn't really see that much of an improvement because I did very little to actually achieve those goals outside of school.

That's all from me. Ba bye.

  1. This is a good post. Reflective, honest and clear. I think perhaps one of the causes of disappointment is a little harsh. To expect a double of any score would be a massive jump caused by either a very poor first go (intentionally or not) or starting at such a low level that even doubling a score doesn't reach a solid level. Neither applies to you so don't beat yourself up about it. I am glad to a bump in plank and pushups. For someone who does zero fitness your beep score is very good too. Sadly, continued inactivity catches up with you somewhere after 30 if not before. Habits are tough to break so we try very hard to help you start some good ones now. :)
