We're back! Sorta

Hello! King Kalshiba here! Or whatever I go by on here, it's been so long since I've done a blog post.
Someone might ask, "Why has it been so long?" My answer would be, "I think it's completely stupid that I should have to do a blog, or anything on the computer for that matter, during PHYSICAL education. Yes, let me exercise my fingers. Ooo, ahhh. Because it's not like I don't that enough at the house."
Either way, to get a semi-decent grade, I need to do a blog. So blog I will.
We had to do a blog about the dance week that we did waaaaaaay back in...April? March? Well, whenever we did dance week, we were supposed to do a blog. I Really enjoyed the Bhangra day. And the line dancing day now that I think about it. Jazz and Hip hop were okay, but I didn't enjoy that as much. In my opinion, they're too complicated. Bhangra is simple and entertaining, as well as a good workout if you actually try.
We also needed a post for our fitness days. Specifically a post for the days when we tested all of our physical attributes, such as the vertical, beep test, T-test and so forth. I'll do a post on that when I actually have the scores in front of me. Because I don't have access to them right now, they are on my skype.
We also were supposed to talk about how the goals that we set for ourselves are coming along. My goal was upper body strength and a higher endurance. If I were to evaluate myself, I'd say that my upper body strength really has not gone up much since the beginning of the semester, and my endurance... well, we could debate on that. Over the course of the semester I haven't learned really so much to endure rather than I've learned how to keep going to my REAL limit rather than when my brain tells me 'Hey...HEY! Ya, your body is tired, stop running.' So, I guess my goal for a higher endurance hasn't been achieved (Not yet anyway, we'll see if that actually comes to fruition.) but I've inadvertently increased my tolerance level when working. I guess what this comes down to is really can I prove it or not. The answer? No. I've had no device to do any sort of progress tracking up until yesterday morning when I finally found my CamCorder. So once I get a bit more video I'll have some clips of me working on here. Hopefully... I said the same thing last year and I think I still have the video of a fitness day from last year. Maybe I should post that too... eh, we'll see.
Let's look at the four pillars to see how I'm doing so far. The first pillar is stuff in the actual class, in my opinion what we SHOULD ACTUALLY BE MARKED ON RATHER THAN OUR BLOG. I say that with all honesty. I can also say with all honesty that during whatever we do during PE, I more often than not give the most that I feel I'm to that day. I'm not feeling to good, I give it 75%. I'm feeling pretty good that day, let's go all the way. And if it's a fitness day I 95% of the time try as hard as I can to at the least be a good example to the others. I'm usually at the front of the class pushing myself as hard as I can. Personally, I really haven't seen this actually help anyone, but eh, I tried.
Second pillar, if I remember correctly, is something like the teamwork, or the leadership pillar. This one, if you couldn't tell, focuses mainly on, whoda thunk it, teamwork and leadership. In my own opinion, I think I do pretty good in this category. I help out with setup and teardown, I try to encourage others when I get the chance, and when Mr.Neuf leaves us to our own buisness, if Jag and Kabir aren't in charge, I try to be. Though, all things said and done, I understand why teachers are the most prone to headaches. Teens, myself included I imagine, I'm not free of guilt, don't listen very much. So it's VERY hard to get anything done. But when I can get them to listen, I do try.
The third pillar is something like lifestyle, which is about life outside of school. I'm going to be blunt, I rarely do anything outside of school to promote a healthy lifestyle. The most I can be said to do is that I ride my bike to and from school. I'll have some videos of that later. Other than that, I eat whatever is put on my plate for dinner, I don't go out of my way to see if it's 'nutritious' or 'what I need to be eating to accomplish my goals'. I take the dog out when he needs to go out, which is literally a 25 foot walk to where the dog usually takes a crap. And then back to the house. My main workout in the house is usually going up and down the stairs. Maybe if I'm waiting for a game to load I'll sit on the weight lifting machine to do a few of each of the things on there. If you haven't already figured it out, I'll have videos of that later.
The last pillar is the blog. We're supposed to have 30 blog posts by the end of the year. I'm not even going to get into that.
If I were to look at everything I've just listed above, I'd say my mark is probably around the low C- area. Anywhere from, say... 50-57%. Really the only thing I need to do more of to get a higher mark would be to get more proof and get it on here. So I'll see to doing something about that.

Either way, so there we have it, a makeup post for everything I've missed. I don't really think I have anything I need to say, so I'll be done for now.

  1. There is some really great stuff in here Roman… and it's mixed up with a bunch of lazy thinking. You are so bright… the "shouldn't we be exercising?" argument is so basic and simplistic in its thinking it is beneath you. Were you late all of the days we discussed why I teach the way I teach? Why I require both recording of efforts AND reflection on learning? I posted under the video too so I won't keep going here but c'mon man… you are way better than that.
